This site is my personal portfolio. I try to collect as little about you as I can. This page explains what is collected, why, and how to reach me if you want it changed or deleted.

What I collect, and why

Analytics. If you accept cookies, I use Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It records things like the pages you view, your rough location from your IP address, and your device and browser. Google processes this on my behalf. If you reject cookies, none of this runs and no analytics cookies are set.

Instagram posts. The Instagram page shows my recent posts using Instagram's own embed. That embed loads only if you accept cookies. When it loads, Instagram (Meta) receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Meta's privacy terms.

If you email me. The contact links open your own email app and send to hello@pandit.guru. I keep your message and address so I can reply. Nothing is collected on the site itself when you click them.

The news and blog section. If you leave a comment or fill in a form there, I store the name and email you enter so I can respond or moderate. Do not enter anything you would not want me to hold.

Cookies I use

The consent choice is stored in your browser, not in a tracking cookie. You can change it any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

The legal basis

Analytics and the Instagram embed run on your consent, which you give through the banner and can withdraw at any time. Email and blog-form data is handled so I can reply to you, which is my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me.

Who else sees your data

Google (for analytics) and Meta (for the Instagram embed), each under their own terms. I do not sell your data or share it with anyone else. Analytics data may be processed outside the UK and EU under those providers' standard safeguards.

How long I keep it

Google Analytics data expires on Google's default schedule, currently 14 months. Emails and blog-form entries I keep only as long as I need them, then delete.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to how I use it or withdraw consent. Email hello@pandit.guru and I will sort it out. If you are in the UK or EU and think I have got something wrong, you can also complain to your data protection regulator, such as the ICO in the UK.

Changes

If I change how any of this works, I will update this page and the date at the top.
